Our Story

Riot in the Attic
Heavy riffs with grunge grit, hard rock drive, and a punk attitude.

This is Riot in the Attic.

A multicultural band of outcasts with migrant roots — Spain, Mexico, and Germany — who, against all odds, crossed paths in Cologne. Never fitting in, never following trends, united only by their love of loud rock music and a refusal to be pigeonholed.

The story began in 2015.
Broke but burning with passion, they scraped together everything they had to record their first EP — just to escape the rehearsal room and storm the stages.

This is not the story of a one-hit wonder.

Not the story of rich kids with trust funds.

Not the story of a band selling out to sound like 10,000 others.

This is the story of Riot in the Attic.

A band that rose from the dirt, bleeding every second of their music.

Over the years, members came and went back to their safe, bourgeois lives — but singer, guitarist, and songwriter Dan kept the fire alive, making Riot in the Attic his project, his child, his soul.

Two EPs, three albums, international shows, and over a million streams later, the passion and direction remain unchanged. Their high-energy, sweat-soaked live shows spark headbanging, mosh pits, and the kind of weird dancing only true rock can summon. For almost a decade, Riot in the Attic have been carving out their own space in Europe’s underground scene.

Even the harshest critics are growing quiet. Because you can say a lot about this band — but you can’t say they don’t walk their own path.

“Here, retro-vibes with subtle psychedelic old-school moments meet modern production and a catchy charm that invites you to continue listening.”
— RockHard Magazine, May 2016
